READY, SET, GO?

When I was a child, my parents often took us to Bass Lake in Knox, Indiana.   We’d spend hours in the water playing, netting guppies, and rowing out in the small boats.  My aunt Lu and Uncle Jack owned a resort there with a large wooden pontoon floating in water about 8 feet deep.   I remember jumping off of the wooden pontoon that had 4 large barrels attached and onto a rubber raft.   And that’s all I remember!

I recall eating canned peaches they gave me  and feeling confused.  Apparently I missed the rubber raft and landed underneath the pontoon caught against one of the barrels.   A quick thinking teenager saw me go under water and not return.  She fished me out and saved my life.  It confirms the idea that we should not be alone.  There is safety in numbers!

Have you ever felt like you were under water in some way?   Maybe with a new business, a new marriage, a baby?  IMG_4683-300x223Have you been confused when entering a building in Chicago, New York, or a foreign country?  New experiences can be overwhelming.   Sometime we run away and don’t even try new things.

Always ask for help and if you don’t get it, continue to ask others.   We all need support and often don’t know where to get it.   You are not alone.

Today I am jumping into a new Blog.  Things are really new to me and I feel like I may be floundering here for weeks or until I get help.  Learning how to navigate the site, adding in pictures that just don’t fit, and looking for help from nearby friends.   Please, I ask you to bear with me as I go forward.

Please continue to join me on this voyage of “Delight in Living”.   It is a guaranteed fun ride as we navigate through life taking pleasure from the unexpected.  I think I’ll go now to find some peaches for comfort!  See you tomorrow.
